A Shared Humanity

Archbishop Desmond Tutu said: "My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together."

This message seems especially powerful and appropriate at the moment, in the midst of the protests taking place in the US, and worldwide, about the death of George Floyd.

The Covid 19 pandemic has also surely 'bound up' our humanity with others across the globe.

Writing prompt: Do you feel a shared humanity? What things make us 'humans together' ? Are there other things that divide and separate us? Write for ten minutes without stopping. Don't worry about grammar, spelling or punctuation, just let your writing flow. Don't plan, or try to change it. When you have finished read what you have put, and share any thoughts below in the comments box if you would like.
