I'm having a Cat Stevens moment, having just listened to him on Radio 4's 'Desert Island Discs'. He's an interesting chap and chose some great 'discs', including tracks from the Beatles, Little Richard and Stevie Wonder.
He was (and still is) very handsome, and was one of my bedroom pin-ups when I was in my teens. I loved his music. One of his best-known songs is 'Father and Son' (famously later covered by Boyzone). In the dialogue, the father advises his son to:
"Take your time, think a lot, why think of everything you've got. For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not."
Writing prompt: What were your dreams when you were young? Did your dreams and ideas bring you into conflict with your parents? Did you fulfill those dreams? Do you have the same dreams now, or are they different? Write without stopping for ten minutes. Feel free to share your thoughts below in the comments box.
