Grief and Love

"Grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning. Their kinship reminds us that there is no love that does not contain loss and no loss that is not a reminder of the love we carry for what we once held close."  Francis Weller

Someone in my family died recently and we are currently in that unsettling limbo time between the death and the funeral. It is a time for reflection, for grieving the loss, but acknowledging and remembering the love we felt.

Writing prompts:

  • If you are grieving a loss, set a timer for six minutes and write without stopping about how it feels. Don't plan what to write, don't worry about spelling or grammar, just get the words on the page.
  • Think about someone you loved who has gone and write them a letter.
