Images: The Line
This new, 9-foot bronze sculpture by Thomas Price unveiled in east London is the first statue of a black woman in the United Kingdom to be created by a black sculptor.
You can find more information about the sculpture here and here , but before you do perhaps you could use the images as a prompt for your writing. Focus on the woman. What comes to mind as you look at her? Write down your thoughts for five minutes then look back at what you have written. Does anything in your writing surprise or interest you?
